JT Gray, owner of the Station Inn
JT Gray of the Station Inn just passed away at 75; he was a great friend to musicians, and a good bluegrass guitarist and bassist himself. He was on the Grammys just last week presenting an award from in front of the club's stage, so this really comes as a shock.
Besides all the great music for 40 years he really made the place a home away from home for working musicians, and of course it was a really fun place to play. He used to drive tour-buses sometimes years ago to help pay the bills, and I got to spend a lot of time with him sitting up front while he drove on a tour I was on. He didn't usually talk a lot but he was a great hang; gonna miss him.
RIP JT
